ATYPICAL BELLY DANCE – Part 2: The Request
by VanceFox

~-~-~-~-

His dance had finished almost an hour ago, a solid 10 minutes of waddling about on a stage, putting himself through the motions that his body could barely manage.  Sitting in his chair in the dressing room, he looked over to his clothes on the side couch.  Getting dressed would require getting up, and getting up required energy.  And he was still worn out from the show.

The towels were still clumped in front of the shower.  If there was any doubt that the performers came second to making money, it was that joke.  A few years ago, the place was just another seedy strip bar barely keeping its doors open.  When Phil purchased it, he renamed The Oven and turned the focus on pregnant males.  While rare, this town always seemed to have a couple.  Phil shelled out big bucks to the guys, taught them to dance, and had a steady crowd ever since.

But the shower, that was put in a long time ago, clearly as an afterthought.  The damn thing was way too small.  The other guys were always complaining about how cramped it was, but none of them ever tried to shower in it while carrying full-term twins.  Billy had stepped under the warm water and tried to close the door, but jumped when the cold glass hit his stomach first.  His stomach was too big.  The only way he could close it was to suck in his gut and press his back against the tiles.  And the tiles were cold.

Deciding he needed a shower to rinse off the oils that made his skin shine under the lights, he had stepped forward.  His stomach hit the door and it swung open.  Billy took his shower with his stomach hanging out, water cascading down his swollen body and falling from his pregnant stomach.  At least he had thought to throw some towels down on the floor, keeping the puddle from forming into a lake.

Looking over to those towels, he considered, just for a second, picking them up.  But that was quickly dismissed by a kick from one of his babies, reminding him that he didn’t feel like getting up.

The door to the dressing room swung open, Phil sticking his head in.  “Great show Billy.”

Billy looked up from his chair.  He knew he didn’t have to cover himself, his stomach did that for him.  But still, the temerity of the owner to just stick his head in on his performers was almost too much.  “Thanks.” Billy said, barely looking up, hoping his voice expressed his displeasure.

“So…” Phil said in that damn annoying way of leading in to a request that would benefit him more than the victim.  “You want to perform again tomorrow night?”

Billy didn’t even have to think about it.  “No.”

“Come on, man!  You saw the crowd tonight.  Imagine if I had had time to advertise it!  We’d be packed.”

“No.” Billy repeated, drawing out the word a bit more.

“You’re not due for another three days.  Come on, just one more show!”

“What, you want me to give birth right there on the stage?” Billy retorted sarcastically.

Phil’s eyes lit up and Billy could easily paint dollar signs on the pupils.  “Think you could arrange that?”

“Out!”

“Fine.” Phil grumbled, closing the door and backing out.  Billy leaned his head back and sighed.  It was obvious Phil had never been pregnant before.  Looking over to his clothes, the pregnant man made up his mind and was just about to push himself up when there was a knocking at the door.

“Hey, Billy?” Matt’s voice came through the closed door.

Relaxing back in his seat, his arms resting on top of his huge dome of a stomach, Billy smiled.  Matt was the nicest guy in the place, which contrasted with the huge body of the bouncer.  “Come on in Matt.” Billy called out.

The door opened again and Matt slid inside.  “I see you just got a visit from our friend… oh!  I’ll come back after you’ve dressed!” Matt hastily said, reaching for the door.

“Don’t worry about it, sit down.” Billy said, nodding to the couch.  Matt was the only one Billy truly liked at The Oven.  At six and a half feet, Matt stood head and shoulders over most the patrons.  And he was built.  Thick neck, powerful biceps, deep chest, and massive legs were enough to overwhelm anybody.  If word got out he was actually a nice guy, his career as a bouncer would be over.

Stepping to the couch, Matt sat down and spread his arms along the back.  “I see you shot down Phil’s latest money-making scheme.  He wasn’t happy.  He was muttering under his breath when I passed him in the hall.” He said, chuckling softly, though Billy noticed his gaze seemed to avoid the dancer’s.

“Let me guess… ‘selfish pregnant bitch.’”

“Close enough.  Glad you turned him down though.”

“If he didn’t pay so well, I wouldn’t be dancing for him in the first place… anyways, how are you doing?  That bodybuilding competition is this weekend, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, I should be tight right on schedule.  You going to be there?”

Billy laughed.  “You’ll have to ask them.” he said, glancing at his massive stomach.  “But if I’m not in labor, I’ll be there.”

“Cool.” Matt said, still avoiding eye contact.  An awkward pause followed.

“What’s on your mind, Matt?  You’re here for more than to escort me to my car.” Billy finally said, pointing to his shirt.

Matt picked up the shirt under his arm and tossed it to Billy.  “Yeah… well… my girlfriend wanted me to ask you for a favor.”

Catching the shirt out of midair, Billy shook the red garment out.  “What kind of favor?” Billy asked as he opened up the bottom and slid his arms in.  The shirt fell down around his torso, bunching up against the upper curve of his stomach.

“Ahhh shit, there’s no easy way of saying this.” Matt finally said, leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees.  “My girlfriend and I… well, she’s taken a lot of crap to get bulked up…”

“I’ve seen you and her going into the gym.  She’s got bigger muscles then a lot of the guys.” Billy says, pulling the shirt down over his stomach, the hem stretching tight around the circumference.

“Yeah, we’re in a side competition for Fittest Couple.  Anyways…” Matt says, pausing.  Finally, he looks up, making eye-contact with Billy.  “She’s worried about the stuff she’s done in the past and… well… we want to have a kid of our own.  Would you consider… you know… having a kid for us?”

Billy blinked, stunned and at a loss for words as Matt’s request trailed off as well.  “Be a surrogate?” he finally manages to get out.

“Yeah… she wants me to… you know… knock you up.” Matt says, his voice fading away to almost nothing, his head turning aside.

“Aren’t you… straight?  I mean… you have a girlfriend and all.”

“Billy, I work HERE.  With Phil.  There’s got to be more than the money to make me put up with him.”

“Good point.” Billy says, motioning for his pants.  “I… Matt, I like you, you’re a cool guy, but being pregnant isn’t my thing.  These twins are killing me as it is.” Billy sighs, grimacing at yet another kick.

“We’re willing to pay you, of course.  And you can keep dancing.  Basically, get paid for just being pregnant, which is what you’re doing now for nothing. ” Matt said, handing the pants over to Billy.

With a grunt, Billy lifted himself out of his chair, his huge stomach leading the way.  Dangling the maternity pants down, he lifts his foot and guides it by feel into the waistband, long ago having learned to get dressed without being able to see around his stomach.  “You know… it’s only because you’re hot and you’ve been a good friend these past few months that I’m even considering it.”  Billy says, pulling the pants up.  Stretching the elastic panel out, he heaves it up over the biggest part of his gut, the dark blue material clinging to his bulge.

Standing up after Billy, Matt stepped over to the coat rack, getting Billy’s trenchcoat.  “You don’t have to, of course.” Matt says, bringing the coat over to the dancer.

Accepting Matt’s help, Billy slides his arms into the sleeves.  Pulling the sides around his stomach, Billy strained to fasten a few of the buttons.  The biggest coat in the store and it barely fit.  “Let me think about it.  I have these two to take care of first.” Billy finally said, looking back up to Matt.

Matt smiled, a little relieved.  He was worried Billy would freak out at the request, but he also trusted his friendship with the pregnant dancer.  “Fair enough.” Matt said, opening the door for his friend.

With his stomach swaying with each step, Billy walked out of the dressing room and into the hall.  Though he didn’t have to look back, he knew Matt was right behind him.  The bar would be empty now, but there were probably one or two patrons outside, waiting for him to emerge.  Thankfully, the trench coat hid much of his stomach, but there was no doubt that he was knocked up.  “By the way, I’ve got a poker night set up tomorrow with some of the guys from the gym.  You interested?”

Pausing in the middle of the bar, just a few yards from the stage he was on just little more than an hour ago, Billy turned back to Matt.  “Sure.  I could always stand to make a few more bucks.” he said, flashing his smile to the bouncer.
ATYPICAL BELLY DANCE - Part 2: The Request

I know I said in my description to Part 1 that I wasn't going to write a sequel. Well, this is what happens when you sit and rest on your laurels. The more I thought about ABD1, the more I liked it. The more I liked the characters. The more I wanted to visit this world (something to do with my wanting to live in it?). Thus, Part 2 was born.

Here we see more about Billy, but this section helps develop Phil and Matt. I also left myself a seque into a third and possible more parts, which I may do. Again, I limited myself to 5 pages or less, which I was able to do.

Nothing overtly sexual in this episode. While future episodes may contain sex, I wanted this one to tease the reader. I wanted to show how people interact with a pregnant guy in a manner that DOESN'T revolve around breeding and knocking them up.

Enjoy.

Constructive criticism, praise, and general commentary welcomed. Flames and morons not.
